In January 2016, Novosibirsk’s Stary Dom Theatre premièred Didenko’s show based on Lev Rubinstein’s “Program of Shared Experiences”—one of the theatre events of the year. That first encounter with the classic of Moscow Conceptualism was not to be the last: on December 22, 2016, the same theatre opened Didenko’s second Rubinstein piece, “I Am Here.”

Didenko on the production:

“So my current experiment is called ‘I Am Here.’ The title itself implies that we have to become aware of ourselves in the context of the reality around us. The Sufi practice of being ‘here and now’ is the key to this project for me. It is an attempt to grasp our time and ourselves within it, to understand what it is made of, and to look at our fears and constructions as the foundations of our civilization.”
